The future is food

As a species, humanity will succeed or fail in the city. Because of the size and nature of the problems we face as a species, FTC sees farming as being much more than just agriculture.

Farming is any idea, product, technology, action, activity, venture, business, or organisation that is contributing to the creation of a more integrated, harmonious, collectively prosperous, and sustainable city. Farming birthed cities – Agriculture allowed settlement, surplus, population growth, urbanisation, economics, production, technology, all the elements that contributed to modernity. If farming was the seed of this growth then it was also part of creating all the problems that face human beings.
